THE QUAICH (from the Gaelic CUACH - cup) is the traditional Scots drinking vessel for whisky; its distinctive style of shallow bowl and shapely "lugs" dating from medieval times.Originally of wood staved construction, by the 17th century they were wrought principally of pewter.The quaich, displayed to the fore of the photograph, has lugs set with "Cairngorms" and the base displays the Clan Crest Badge.
