Staghorn, or deer horn, has traditionally been used to produce walking stick handles. The horn used is cast horn. The deer shed their antlers each year and grow a new set. Using horn does not cause any harm to the animals.

A naturally shaped piece of staghorn has been fitted onto a hardwood shaft to produce this stick.
